Erick Oduniyi joins the Life Prep Academy family as a math, robotics, and 3D printing teacher. Born and raised in Wichita, he is a graduate of the Northeast Magnet Art Magnet program. After high school, Erick attended the University of Kansas (KU) for five years before transferring to Wichita State University (WSU) to finish his computer engineering degree. Through KU, he has been able to pursue research opportunities and internships at Harvard, Children’s Mercy Hospital, KU’s Computational Epidemiology Lab, KU’s Speech and Applied Neuroscience Lab, and the Santa Fe Institute. Additionally, Erick spent three years as an assistant and student at KU’s School of Architecture Center for Design Research (CDR). At the CDR, he worked on using advanced research that emphasizes the cross-disciplinary use of technology like robotics and 3D printing, and design to solve industry-funded problems. Now, Erick is a researcher with WSU’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) Robotics and Automation Lab, working on next-generation manufacturing techniques. Outside of the classroom, Erick enjoys writing and listening to people and their stories.
